Eternal. Explosive. Romantic. Inspirational. How else to describe “Blue Electric Light” – Lenny Kravitz’s 12th studio album? Kravitz wrote and recorded the album, in which his masterful deep soul rock and roll was back in his own studio in the Bahamas. As a relentlessly creative dynamo – as a musician, songwriter, producer, actor, author – he continues to be a globally powerful energy in music, art and culture.

What to see in Bulgaria

Dolphinarium Varna

The Dolphinarium is located in the northern part of the Marine Park in the city of Varna. It opened on August 11, 1984 and has a capacity of 1,200 seats. The dimensions of the pool are 12 meters by 15 meters and have a depth of 6 meters, which is filled with seawater through a special pumping system. The water is extracted from the Black Sea at a distance of 150-160 meters from the coast and a depth of 3-6 meters, where it is cleanest, and undergoes treatment before reaching the pool. The Dolphinarium also has a coffee shop with a transparent wall overlooking the aquarium.

There are five dolphins at the Dolphinarium – 3 females and 2 males – Kimbo, Dolly and Mickey (the most famous), who were brought from the distant shores of Guatemala and Cuba, and Yoana, Bimbo and Flipper, who were born in the Dolphinarium in Varna.

The idea of creating a dolphinarium on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria for the first time was proposed by the zoologist Nikolay Boev. For a decade he did not give up on it. Even plans for the development of the then national park “Ropotamo” included a project for its construction. However, it remained unrealized. A dolphinarium was built in Varna instead. It is the second one on the Black Sea after this in Batumi (Georgia).

Rupite (Vanga’s place) – a magical and energetic corner of the Earth

Rupite is a village which includes a small mountainous protected area in the southeastern part of Blagoevgrad ProvinceBulgaria, 11 kilometers northeast of PetrichPetrich Municipality, on the western bank of the Struma River. It is best known as the place where alleged Bulgarian clairvoyant Baba Vanga lived. The area is also associated with the crater of an extinct volcano, the hills of Kozhuh and Pchelina, and the warm thermal springs. The village has 1,124 inhabitants. The landscape of Rupite is dominated by the eminence of Kozhuh (кожух, “fur coat,” taking its name from its shape) to the west. Although it is only 281 m high, it rises prominently from the flat Petrich Plain. The eminence, which is part of the outskirts of an extinct volcano, consists of three small summits, of which the middle one is the highest. Volcanic rocks and rock pyramids can be observed at the foot of Kozhuh.Today Rupite is mostly famous as the residence of the late alleged clairvoyant Baba Vanga (Vangeliya Gushterova, 1911 – 1996), who still attracts thousands of worshipers and tourists. According to a legend, Vanga lost her sight during a storm in her early childhood, but during the accident she had a vision, which gave her clairvoyance abilities. In the last years of her life, Vanga lived in a small house in Rupite, because according to her relatives she considered the area an “energy source” from which she collected her powers.According to the statistics of Vasil Kanchov in 1900, Shirbanovo (as it was known before) was populated by 252 Bulgarian Christians.

Perperikon is the largest megalith ensemble site in the Balkans. In the Middle Ages Perperikon served as a fortress.

Old Town Nessebar

Originally a Thracian settlement, known as Mesembria, the town became a Greek colony when settled by Dorians from Megara at the beginning of the 6th century BC, then known as Mesembria. The capture of the town by the Ottoman Empire in 1453 marked the start of its decline, but its architectural heritage remained and was enriched in the 19th century by the construction of wooden houses in style typical for the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast during this period.Often referred to as the “Pearl of the Black Sea“, Nesebar is a rich city-museum defined by more than three millennia of ever-changing history. The small city exists in two parts separated by a narrow human-made isthmus with the ancient part of the settlement on the peninsula (previously an island), and the more modern section (i.e. hotels, later development) on the mainland side. The older part bears evidence of occupation by a variety of different civilisations over the course of its existence.

What to see in Turkiye

Cappadocia

Cappadocia (/kæpəˈdʃəˌ ˈdkiə/TurkishKapadokya[kɑpɑ’dokjɑ]) is a historical region in Central AnatoliaTurkey. It is largely in the provinces of NevşehirKayseriAksarayKırşehirSivas and Niğde.

According to Herodotus,in the time of the Ionian Revolt (499 BC), the Cappadocians were reported as occupying a region from Mount Taurus to the vicinity of the Euxine (Black Sea). Cappadocia, in this sense, was bounded in the south by the chain of the Taurus Mountains that separate it from Cilicia, to the east by the upper Euphrates, to the north by Pontus, and to the west by Lycaonia and eastern Galatia. The name, traditionally used in Christian sources throughout history, continues in use as an international tourism concept to define a region of exceptional natural wonders, in particular characterized by fairy chimneys, in addition to its religious heritage of being a centre of early Christian learning, evidenced by hundreds of churches and monasteries (such as those of Göreme and Ihlara), as well as underground cities that were dug to offer protection during periods of persecution.

Pamukkale

Pamukkale, (Turkish pronunciation: [pamuk̚’kalɛ]) meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey. The area is famous for a carbonate mineral left by the flowing of thermal spring water. It is located in Turkey’s Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year.

The ancient Greek city of Hierapolis was built on top of the travertine formation which is in total about 2,700 metres (8,860 ft) long, 600 m (1,970 ft) wide and 160 m (525 ft) high. It can be seen from the hills on the opposite side of the valley in the town of Denizli, 20 km away. This area has been drawing visitors to its thermal springs since the time of classical antiquity. The Turkish name refers to the surface of the shimmering, snow-white limestone, shaped over millennia by calcite-rich springs.Dripping slowly down the mountainside, mineral-rich waters collect in and cascade down the mineral terraces, into pools below. It was added as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 along with HierapolisPamukkale’s terraces are made of travertine, a sedimentary rock deposited by mineral water from the hot springs. In this area, there are 17 hot springs with temperatures ranging from 35 °C (95 °F) to 100 °C (212 °F). The water that emerges from the spring is transported 320 metres (1,050 ft) to the head of the travertine terraces and deposits calcium carbonate on a section 60 to 70 metres (200 to 230 ft) long covering an expanse of 24 metres (79 ft) to 30 metres (98 ft). When the water, su.persaturated with calcium carbonate, reaches the surface, carbon dioxide de-gasses from it, and calcium carbonate is deposited. Calcium carbonate is deposited by the water as a soft gel which eventually crystallizes into travertine.
